In Greek mythology, the story of Icarus is about a young man who, along with his father Daedalus, attempted to escape imprisonment by flying away using wings made of feathers and wax. Daedalus had warned Icarus not to fly too close to the sun, as the heat would melt the wax and cause the wings to fall apart.
However, Icarus, overcome with the thrill of flight, disregarded his father's warning and flew higher and higher, until the heat of the sun caused his wings to melt and he plummeted into the sea and drowned.
